Restricting nuclear power

The United Nations Solar Energy Group for the Environment and Development came up with a Renewables Intensive Global Energy Scenario (RIGES) which maintains nuclear energy at present levels. It involves the co-option of 0.1% of the earth's surface (i.e. 0.3% of the earth's land surface) with solar collectors, wind generators and biomass plantations (assuming a 10%) energy conversion rate).
