The adherence of scientists to 'schools of thought', unable or unwilling to try to grasp arguments from people in other 'camps' is no more understandable than the blind uncritical acceptance of different dogmas and ideologies by less educated people. Many institutions for higher learning lack a critical 'faculty'.
