Recreating decisional symbols

Description

Intending to symbolically inform, sustain, and bind the family's internal life in relation to its external purpose. The primary effect outside the family is enhanced sensitivity and response to communal symbols through interior awareness and common rites.

Context

An integral part of redirecting family purpose, building a new internal order and stability and being directed towards engagement in the community outside itself on behalf of everyone.

Implementation

Tactics include: grounded covenant to enable the family to live out of the condensed corporate thrust while releasing the demand and promise of the individual within the corporate body; distinct rites to rehearse and celebrate the family's relation to ultimate meaning, to notable family events, and to their participation in the continuing journey of mankind; identifiable symbols to enable the family to symbolize its decisional relationship to itself ant its external purpose as well as its relationship to the corporate community and goals; heritage gifts to enable the family to live out an enriched self-understanding through its own inherited gifts in relation to the gifts of other families, races and cultures; and signal travel to expand the family's universe of common life to include on-the-scene experiences of other geographical areas and human cultures and to demonstrate global purpose. An example is a child who experiences family rites and is, therefore, enabled to appropriate community rites.
