Implementation
In the Republic of the Maldives, a landfill site has been constructed on an isolated island of Thila Fushi, about 9 km from the main island of Male. Land has been reclaimed by solid waste landfilling in the northeastern corner of Thila Fushi. The waste is transported by trucks on a barge.
