Identification and promotion of women and their issues in international public health such as: safer motherhood, maternal health and child health, employment training, legislation, policy formation and support of pilot projects.
Women have specific health care needs. More than one third of disease that burdens women between the ages of 15 and 44 are conditions that afflict women exclusively or predominantly.
Sponsor panels on women's health; provide exchange forum and technical assistance of existing training, resources and materials on women's health areas; research neglected women's health areas; publicize information and run campaigns to focus on such issues.
The health of women influences the health status of other family members because women need to be healthy in order to fulfil their roles as mothers and household managers.
