Claim
Demonstrating raises social consciousness by representing, often before mass media, an issue which is felt to be of concern to all.
Counter-claim
Demonstrating is effective in influencing social opinion, but it rarely provides practical solutions.
Demonstrating is only useful in regard to those issues which can be visibly enacted, leaving concerns of a more intangible nature untouched.
