In a parliamentary assembly comprising members of many different political parties, a governmental majority may be very difficult to obtain or may be obtained only in a manner rendering administration and the passing of new legislation very difficult. This may lead to political unrest and revolution culminating in dictatorship. Government majority may require a coalition between two or more parties which may later disagree over policy, thus causing the government to fall, and a new government may not be formed immediately. Alternatively one party may have much more support than the others and may enjoy a largely uninterrupted term of office. Such parties tend to be conservative and may maintain a fairly strict censorship over the media.
