Religious dissent arises from the selfish individualist egos of those who both fail to embrace the true transpersonal quality of religion and fail tolerate its imperfect expression by human beings.
Dissenting interests have arisen in opposition to all the ordinary powers of the world and can justify that opposition only by a strong claim to natural liberty. Historically the existence of the Protestantism depended on the powerful and unremitting assertion of that claim; all Protestantism is a form of religious dissent.
