False statements


Nature

Generally, it is considered a crime to make false statements to a legal government proceeding. This includes making false statements while under oath and testifying to a legislative or judicial inquiry, making false written statements, knowingly creating a false impression or omitting pertinent information in order to mislead or uses a trick to mislead a government body.
