In 1992, 56 foreign journalists were expelled from, or forced to leave, the following countries because of news coverage or commentary:

Africa: Cameroon (1), Equatorial Guinea (1), Gabon (1), Liberia (1), Zaire (6)

America: Cuba (1), El Salvador (1), Guatemala (2), Haiti (2), Peru (2)

Asia: China (4), India (26), Indonesia (2)

Pacific: Papua New Guinea (4)

Europe: Macedonia (2)
