Expertise unconstrained by wisdom

Humanity's eternal and well-grounded fear is that wisdom will fail to keep pace with expertise. It has always been hoped that the unfortunate consequences of misguided expertise will somehow evoke from wisdom an appropriate response.

With much knowledge comes grief (Bible).
