Corns
- Callosities
- Asbestos corns of the skin
Nature
A corn is a localized thickening of the sole of the foot, and is often painful to stand on. The corn is conical in shape, the point of the cone, known as the "eye" of the corn, being directed inwards and focusing the pressure. A general thickening over a wider area is called a callosity.
