Complex trials

  • Trials exceeding competence of juries
  • Lengthy trials

Claim

Jurors have many difficulties if a crime has been committed, for example, in the sophisticated world of high finance or international trading that is unfamiliar to the jury. Especially fraud cases are complex and usually last for weeks if not months and they exceed the limits of comprehension and memory of jurors. The result may be conviction of an innocent or acquittal of a guilty person.

Counter-claim

The jury is well equipped to decide the dishonesty or honesty of the defendant. The responsibility to make the issues clear to the jury is for the prosecution, defence lawyers and the judge.
