Cockroaches, important disease vectors, have developed resistance to the various insecticides used in their control.
Incidence
The German roach Blattella germanica first showed signs of resistance in 1951 in Texas (USA). By 1958 resistant strains were evident in Europe and the Caribbean. The oriental roach Blatta orientalis first developed resistance in Germany in 1958.
