Blackfly resistance to insecticides


Nature

Blackflies are vectors of onchocerciasis and other diseases, the control of which are threatened by the increasing resistance of blackflies to insecticides.

Incidence

Resistant strains of blackfly were first reported in 1963, and have been observed in many areas including Japan, Quebec and Ghana.
