Ten-fold knowledge (Systematics)
- Experience of creativity
Description
There is widespread evidence of a creative (pattern generating) activity that is not only the source of order but also the vehicle of disorder. This can only be experienced through a minimum of ten independent terms. Although it can be inferred elsewhere, an individual can only be directly aware of this power within his own consciousness. In creativity there is an authentic addition to the sum total of experience. At this ten-fold level of knowledge several sets of processes can be experienced as compensating for one another's defects to produce an overall harmony that reacts on, and sustains, the individual structures.
Context
The tenth in a sequence of twelve modes of knowledge, identified by J G Bennett, inspired by G Gurdjieff.
