Self-observation
Description
Self-observation is the process of studying one's intellectual, emotional and other functions separately from each other, and the manner in which one is involved and identified with them. It is always directed at some definite function, whether observation of thoughts, movements, emotions or sensations. There is always a definite object to be observed within oneself.
Self-observation leads on to self-remembering (described separately) in which the person is not himself divided by the observation process but experiences himself as a whole.
