Detached self-observation meditation
Description
Passive self-observation activates the unconscious mind, allowing previously hidden or forgotten thoughts, memories, desires and impulses to surface and be faced calmly and boldly. As they come under the focus of consciousness, the individual is able to come to understand the fullness of his nature. Such detached observation finally transcends beyond mental flux, when the meditator is aware of himself observing the flow in the mind, and finally beyond the ego, when observer and observed are one.
This process leads to authentic self-existence and the permanent search for higher values, when the frontiers of existence are always enlarging in a process of dynamic growth. It also leads to improved understanding of others and better relationships with them.
