Using school children as community focal points for environmental information

  • Using children and parents as focal points for environmental information

Description

Agenda 21 recommends mobilizing communities through schools and local health centres so that children and their parents become effective focal points for sensitization of communities to environmental issues.

Implementation

This strategy features in the framework of Agenda 21 as formulated at UNCED (Rio de Janeiro, 1992), now coordinated by the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development and implemented through national and local authorities.
