In Egypt, the training of nearly 2,000 adolescent peer educators (half of them girls) has been so successful that five neighbouring family planning associations have asked for assistance. In Senegal, Xall Yoon, or 'Opening the Doors, Clearing the Way', has trained over 1,000 young people at workshops on reproduction, contraception, sexually transmitted diseases, sexual health and abortion. The YES (Youth for Education on Sexuality) project has trained teenage peer counsellors. Some of the young people trained have now become trainers.
