Slowing down building of electricity power stations

Power stations are built to generate energy, which in turn is produced to satisfy a demand. Reverse the problem and reduce the demand instead of increasing the supply. If £3,000 million is taken as the average construction cost of a modern power station, and £30,000 the cost of a medium sized, mass produced, energy efficient and resource efficient house, then 100,000 houses could be constructed for the same price as a new power station. Then you re-house 100,000 families who are living in the worst (and most energy inefficient) housing and demolish their previous dwellings.
