A UK doctor is providing performing theatre in his waiting room and live music for mothers in anti-natal classes. Drawing, painting, writing and music have all played their part in this experiment aimed not only at enhancing patients' well being but also at achieving greater involvement of residents in the community. People are encouraged to express themselves through poetry and stories, to be healed through creating, to regard their individual lives as important and valuable and to share their lives as stories with others.
There is a vital link between the health and the morale of a community. If the community is not functioning properly, then the people do not function properly either.
