Exchanging experience on rural energy technologies

This strategy features in the framework of Agenda 21 as formulated at UNCED (Rio de Janeiro, 1992), now coordinated by the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development and implemented through national and local authorities.

1. Drawing on the experience and available information of non-governmental organizations in this field, the appropriate UN agencies and regional organizations should, exchange country and regional experience on rural energy planning methodologies in order to promote efficient planning and select cost-effective technologies.
