Establishing judicial communication

Description

Providing the means for the individual to address the judicial process. The effect is that the issues of the individual will have full and appropriate attention in the judicial process as he reviews decisions and makes final decisions.

Context

An integral part of recontextualizing judicial procedures through the establishment of a system of decision-making accountable to the demands both of the individual and of the global context.

Implementation

Tactics include: sensitized leaders to make judicial leaders aware that the function of the judicial process is to be the servant to a society of individuals; vocal public to provide a means whereby the people's needs and consensus can be expressed with clarity to judicial leaders; informed public to provide easy, intelligible communication between the judicial leaders and the people in order to facilitate their helpful, intelligent participation in the issues; auxiliary creation to create a grassroots global organization in participation which judicial issues can be considered and through which a collective voice may be expressed; and accountability structures to insure that judicial leaders will hear the people and be responsible to them via such procedures as a popularly elected judiciary. An example is a community forum in which local judges would engage in conversation with the people they serve so that they can discover the context in which the people live and thereby make decisions sensitive to the people's needs.
