Destroying drug plants

  • Eradicating drug crops

Implementation

Governments in Colombia, Peru, Bolivia and other drug-producing countries use chemical herbicides to kill coca plants. However, farmers usually simply move to different areas and plant new crops.

Counter claim

  1. The forced eradication programme leads to deforestation and more migration, displacing people even deeper into the Amazon.
