Creating popular urbanwatches

Description

Popular urbanwatches are multi-sectoral tools for coordinated urban environmental management. They are both reciprocal information producing organs (in particular offering a collective structure for popular experiences of coordinated environmental management) and a communication framework (between town councils, NGOs, popular movements). They are also created as watchdogs. The urbanwatches create the possibility for synergy between all town actors. They reinforce coordination between existing networks, document innovative experiences, dialogue and negotiate for change with town councils, with the goal of granting inhabitants the resources, management capacity and accessible technology to manage their local living environments.
