Beyond the current ethnic and tribal conflicts across the globe is a new commercial world order, tied together by fast, cheap communications and transportation technology and built mainly by enterprising network of ethnic groups. The global economy today is, in large measure, the creation of ethnic tribes in diaspora. A rootedness in the family is the secular glue that continues to hold these successful tribes together. Extended kinship bonds serve as both a source of emotional strength and as the foundation of business relationships that transcend national boundaries. In a new flush of positive tribalism, transnational ethnic groups will reassert their strength in creating of trading networks to be the sinew of market capitalism for the future.
