According to 1993 surveys, working women in Canada or in France spend, on average, over four hours a day doing unpaid work at home, twice as much as men. A 1998 survey in the USA stated that working mothers do about 20 hours of housework a week, as compared to 30 hours in the 1970s, while working fathers do about 10 hours of housework a week, as compared to 5 hours in the 1970s.
