Background

Sarcogyps calvus is distributed throughout: Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Thailand and Vietnam.

Incidence

The Red-headed Vulture is considered as a "Lower Risk" sub-category "near threatened" species by the IUCN. CITES lists the species as "Appendix 2".
