  • Threatened species of protists

Nature

The protista, or protoctista, are one-celled living organisms. They have a more complicated structure than the monera, having a cell nucleus and usually a cell wall and organelles. Protista may be plant-like producers or animal-like consumers. Some, like Euglena may be both. Examples of protista are amoebae, diatoms and red algae. There is no known record of protista under threat of extinction.
