Occurs in Sumatra, Kalimantan, Panaitan, Java, Barung, Bawean, Kangean Islands, Bali, Lombok, Sumbawa, Flores, Alor, Sumba, Timor; islands off Sumatra and Borneo, except Mentawai Islands. Is often found in forest edges and plantations.
