Social apathy

Lack of concern for social issues and the suffering of others may occur on an individual or national level. It may also be reflected in hostility or indifference shown towards other social groups by a group formed to protect its own self-interest. Social apathy reinforces social injustice, inequality and conflict and may lead to social breakdown, anarchy or dictatorship.
