Background
There are several types of Sanfilippo disorders, each resulting from a different enzyme deficiency: Type A is sulphamidase (glucosamine-N-sulphatase); Type B is alpha-N-acetylglucosaminidase; Type C is glucosamine-N-acetyl transferase; Type D is N-acetylglucosamine-6-sulphatase.
