Rising damp
Nature
Rising damp is dampness in the walls of houses that arises from direct contact with damp soil or as a result of a failed damp course.
Counter-claim
Most cases of rising damp are misdiagnosed. The issue is rarely a failed damp course but bridging of the damp course, leaking water pipes or guttering and similar building errors or maintenance issues.
