Rhinitis

Nature

Rhinitis is an inflammation of the mucosa (delicate lining of the inner body surfaces) of nasal passages. Symptoms are rhinorrhoea (runny nose), stuffy nose, scratchy throat and dry cough. It may be caused by infections, allergy or non-allergic factors such as humidity.

Due to overlapping symptoms, it may be difficult to differentiate between sinusitis and rhinitis. However, symptoms of sinusitis are more severe than the symptoms of rhinitis.
