Personal physical insecurity of women

According to the British Crime Survey one in five women felt "very unsafe" walking outside at night. Yet fewer than one in 70 women claimed to have been attacked in 1988. For stranded women drivers in the UK , the risk of being knocked down by a passing car is more likely than attack.
