Methane gas emissions from animal husbandry
Incidence
It has been estimated that cattle generate 60 million tons of methane gas each year, contributing significantly to the greenhouse effect. Domestic animals were the third largest source of Canadian methane emissions in 1990, being 27% of 3.7 megatonnes.
