Meningitis C
Nature
Meningitis C is a bacterial inflammation of the skull membranes. It is a serious, sometimes fatal illness that mostly affects teenagers between 15 and 18.
Incidence
Prior to 2000 Meningitis C accounted for 40% of cases of meningitis in the USA. A vast drop in the number of cases of the disease is attributed to the success of the government's vaccination policy during 1999 and 2000.
