According to a 1999 report, in Liverpool's Merseyside the cost of using public transport reaches 102 euro a month on the basis of the normal fare, as against 15 euro in Athens and just 11 euro in Prague. For those amounts of money it was possible to buy 18 litres of petrol in Prague, 22 litres in Lisbon, 60 litres in Stuttgart and 102 litres in Merseyside. As for cost of using a city centre car park for an hour, it was 2.9 euro in Athens, over two euro in Edinburgh, 1.8 euro in Paris and Stuttgart, 1.7 euro in Liverpool and les than one euro in Lisbon.
