Limb-Girdle muscular dystrophy (LGMD) can start appearing anywhere from late childhood to middle age. The symptoms are weakness and wasting affecting the shoulder and pelvic girdles first. It usually progresses slowly with cardiopulmonary complications often occurring in later stages of the disease.
