In Chinese medicine, the pulse provides one of the most important diagnostic signs of illness. The pulse is felt at three locations on the radial artery near the wrist and palpitated at three levels of pressure: superficial, middle and deep. Disharmonies in the body leave a clear imprint on the pulse. There are over twenty pulse types. In addition the pulses felt at the three positions on the left and right wrist correspond to different organs of the body.
