Insufficient neighbourhood signs
- Missing public signage
- Incomplete identification signs
Nature
Public signs include, street signs and number, traffic signs, commercial signs, public notice boards and service signs.
Incidence
In hundreds of thousands of villages there are no public signs, hindering communications. When villages were small, close knit and isolated there was no need for signs. With increased interaction between villages and the larger society the need is two fold. Residents are increasingly aware public signs are marks of progress, among other and even more important things. Visitors are put off by having to ask residents constantly for directions.
