Inflexible learning schedules

UK tertiary students wanted the teaching year increased from 30 to 45 weeks to allow undergraduates to learn at their own pace. They argued that students should be able to start courses at different times in the year and take time off to pursue other interests. Some students would complete courses quickly and others would take far longer than at present.
