Health hazards from water development schemes

In the planning, design and operation of irrigation, drainage and other water development schemes, there is a need to incorporate measures for the control of vector-borne diseases (e.g. schistosomiasis and malaria). This problem is partly caused by a lack of cooperation between health and engineering sciences.
