Feline immuno-deficiency virus

Incidence

This recently discovered equivalent to HIV-virus is reported to be widespread amongst the population of domestic cats (in the UK 6% of healthy cats and 19% of sick cats carry it; 21% in the case of homes with more than one cat). The incidence amongst feral and wild cats is not known. The feline virus is not believed to infect humans.
