Egoism

  • Dependence on egoism

Nature

Egoism is an ethical stance in which private interests are viewed as the basic motive for all action and as the chief criterion of value applied to society and to an individual's immediate milieu. In both the life of an individual and the life of a nation, egoism can lead to a separation which sets individual or national goals as priorities, thus serving to polarize one being or one nation from the totality of universal cohesiveness.
