Bombardment

  • Bombing

Nature

Bombing is to attack with a destructive device containing explosive or incendiary material or gas by throwing, firing from heavy guns, dropping from an aircraft or placing in position.

Incidence

From 1962 to 1973 USA aircraft dropped more than 2 million tons of bombs on Laos, a country of less than 3 million people. This represented more than $1.44 million a day. The total amount exceeded that dropped by USA forces in all theatres during World War II. It has been alleged that Laos was used as a research and development laboratory to test new munition systems.
