Bias against private enterprise
Claim
- The critics of private enterprise underestimate its services, exaggerate its profits and impugn its motives. It is difficult to estimate the magnitude of the damage they do. Where a manager is harassed, the cost is in lost time; when the anti-business diatribes reach employees, productivity falls, labour relations are disrupted; and government policy may be influenced to the point where laws are enacted that harass companies, reduce investment returns, discourage new investment and retard development.
