Upper middle grade (Taoism)
Description
Methods include formal religious practices including transmission of initiation and precepts, readings, recitations, preaching. Practices include stargazing and bowing to the stars; the practitioner may keep silence, do hard labour; he maintains outward virtues.
Context
In the nine grades of practices which are side tracks and auxiliary methods in Taoism, this is the highest of the three middle grades.
