Spiritual rebirth of the ego

Description

Integral philosophy maintains that when the separate, individual ego is dissolved in the One of the eternal, it is reborn in the enlightened, spiritual sense to a cosmocentric existence in profound joy and harmony. Such teaching has echoes in Christianity, with the image of the resurrection of the dead "... born a natural body, raised a spiritual body" and the need for the seed to "die" before it can grow and bring forth fruit - "Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone; but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit".
